Lille coach Rudi Garcia has criticised Newcastle United for the way they handled negotiations over the transfer of defender Mathieu Debuchy in the summer.
The Premier League club failed to meet Lille's asking price even though the 27-year-old was keen to join them.
"If Newcastle would have done what they had to, then Mathieu would have left," Garica told L'Equipe.
"Now I believe Mathieu has swallowed it. He is now looking forward and that is the most important thing.
"How do I find his behaviour? Perfectly normal, that is the right term. He longs to play again after his injury."
Debuchy is said to be hopeful of joining Newcastle in January.
