Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Lille vs. Montpellier HSC

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Lille vs. Montpellier HSC.

Lille can stretch their unbeaten home run in Ligue 1 to a staggering 13 games when they welcome Montpellier HSC to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Sunday lunchtime.

Paulo Fonseca's charges were served a slice of humble pie in a 1-0 loss to Angers last weekend, while their visitors also suffered defeat for the first time since Michel Der Zakarian's homecoming, falling 2-1 to Toulouse.

We say: Lille 2-1 Montpellier HSC

There was no shortage of shots for Lille against Angers last weekend - Les Dogues simply came up against a goalkeeper in inspired form - and a similar volume of chances created with a little more ruthlessness should spell success for the hosts this weekend.

While it is too early to tell what sort of effect defeat to Toulouse may have on Der Zakarian's Montpellier, we cannot see any way for La Paillade to end Lille's phenomenal unbeaten streak at home, even if a clean sheet is not on the cards for Fonseca's team.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Auxerre vs. Nantes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Two sides separated by just one place and two points in the bottom half of the Ligue 1 table face off at the Stade de l'Abbe-Deschamps on Sunday afternoon, as Auxerre play host to Nantes.

Christophe Pelissier's outfit cruised to a 3-0 win over Ajaccio last weekend, while their visitors impressively held Champions League-chasing Monaco to a 2-2 draw.

We say: Auxerre 1-1 Nantes

A Nantes side who seldom travel well in Ligue 1 should experience an uncomfortable afternoon against a steadfast Auxerre defence, especially with so much still to play for both outfits.

If last weekend is anything to go by, set-pieces could be Nantes' golden ticket and Achilles heel at the Stade de l'Abbe-Deschamps, where a closely-contested stalemate could be on the cards.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Clermont vs. Angers (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Clermont will be looking to close the gap on the top half of Ligue 1 when they welcome relegation-threatened Angers to Stade Gabriel Montpied on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts have won back-to-back games, most recently against Troyes and AC Ajaccio, while Angers extended a rare unbeaten run with an unlikely victory last time out.

We say: Clermont 2-0 Angers

Clermont are in a good run of form in Ligue 1, and a home tie with Angers is the perfect opportunity for the hosts to further cement their top-half charge in the closing stages of the season.

Angers have pulled off some impressive results over the past fortnight, but we envisage their brief unbeaten spell coming to an end on Sunday afternoon.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Strasbourg vs. Ajaccio (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Ajaccio will be hoping to end a worrying run of defeats when they travel to Stade de la Meinau to face Strasbourg on Sunday afternoon in what is a massive game in the Ligue 1 fight for survival.

Both sides occupy places in the relegation zone heading into this weekend's clash, separated by just five points with eight games left to play in the campaign.

We say: Strasbourg 1-0 Ajaccio

Strasbourg return to familiar territory following two difficult away assignments, and you feel Antonetti's men will be targeting Sunday's fixture as a must win in their quest for survival.

Ajaccio simply need to earn a win this weekend to avoid an even greater challenge of climbing out of the relegation zone, however we believe they will suffer their sixth-straight defeat in this one.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Brest vs. Nice (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Brest will be looking to steer themselves clear of the Ligue 1 relegation zone when they host Nice at Stade Francis Le Ble on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts are 16th in the table, just two points clear of the relegation zone, while the visitors are in ninth place, and could still make a late push for the European qualification places.

We say: Brest 1-1 Nice

Brest have displayed remarkable signs of improvement in recent weeks, coming so close to getting a positive result against PSG, therefore they should be good enough to get a point on Sunday.

Nice have a very good record against the Pirates, but drawing games has been a very common occurrence as of late, and it would not be a surprise if the spoils are shared again this weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Monaco vs. Lorient (Sunday, 4.05pm)

Monaco currently find themselves on the outside of a Champions League place next season as they return to Stade Louis II on Sunday for a date with Lorient.

Les Monegasques remain fourth in the Ligue 1 table after squandering a two-goal lead to draw Nantes last weekend (2-2), while Les Merlus have dropped down to 10th in the standings, drawing 0-0 at home to Marseille.

We say: Monaco 3-2 Lorient

Les Monegasques know how to turn it on at this time of the season, and although their defence has been leaky at home, their attacking options are far superior to what Lorient currently possess, and we expect them to do enough on Sunday to collect three points.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Marseille vs. Troyes (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Marseille will be looking to stay in the hunt for the Ligue 1 title when they host Troyes at the Orange Velodrome on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts are third in the table, eight points behind league-leaders Paris Saint-Germain, while the visitors are in real trouble of being relegated, currently sitting in 18th place.

We say: Marseille 3-0 Troyes

Marseille have been a little shaky at home this season, however they could not ask for a better team to play at the moment, as no side have collected fewer points than Troyes in their last 10 league games.

Owing to ESTAC's terrible defensive record, it would not be a surprise to see the Olympians rack up a victory by a considerable margin, keeping themselves in the hunt for the Ligue 1 title.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
