Leeds United have reportedly set to fall short in their quest to sign Harry Wilson from Fulham.
The Yorkshire club have continued to work on a deal to sign Wilson on deadline day despite failing with a loan proposal.
According to The Standard, Leeds have been 'hopeful' of reaching an agreement with Fulham before the transfer window closes at 7pm.
The report claims that Fulham could allow Wilson to depart if they sign all of their attacking targets ahead of the deadline.
Leeds to fall short in Wilson pursuit
The Cottagers are aiming to recruit Chelsea's Tyrique George, AC Milan's Samuel Chukwueze and Shakhtar Donetsk's Kevin.
Unfortunately for Leeds, journalist Miguel Delaney is now reporting that the newly-promoted club are set to experience disappointment in their pursuit of Wilson.
The proposed deal is said to be in 'real difficulty' despite the two clubs going 'back and forth' in their negotiations on deadline day.
As a result, the 28-year-old looks set to remain part of Marco Silva's squad beyond the end of the summer transfer window.
Bitter blow for Leeds on deadline day
Leeds would have been keen to bolster Daniel Farke's attacking ranks with a player of Wilson's calibre and experience.
The winger has established himself at Premier League level, scoring 12 goals and contributing 14 assists in 92 Premier League appearances.
Wilson may also be slightly disappointed if a move to Leeds fails to materialise because there is a possibility that he could fall down the pecking order at Craven Cottage if Fulham secure all of their attacking targets.
Even if he stays at the club, there is still uncertainty surrounding Wilson's future at Fulham, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
