Leeds United have reportedly had a loan offer rejected for Fulham attacker Harry Wilson.
The Yorkshire club have seemingly identified the Wales international as a potential target for their deadline day business.
According to journalist Graham Smyth, Leeds are in talks with Fulham over a potential move to sign Wilson before the transfer deadline.
However, in a separate update, Alex Crook reports that Fulham have rejected a loan proposal from Leeds for the 28-year-old.
It remains to be seen whether Leeds return with a fresh proposal, or if they concede defeat in their quest to prise Wilson away from Craven Cottage.
Wilson, who has entered the final year of his contract, has featured in all four of Fulham's competitive matches this season, including a substitute appearance in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Leicester set to beat Wrexham in James race
Another Wales international could be on the move on deadline day, with Jordan James closing in on a loan switch to the Championship.
The 21-year-old looks set to leave Rennes just a year after joining the French club from Birmingham City.
Wrexham have been heavily linked with the midfielder, but they look set to lose out to one of their Championship rivals.
According to journalist Rob Dorsett, Leicester are set to beat Wrexham in the race to sign James before the transfer window shuts at 7pm.
The update claims that Leicester have held productive talks with Rennes and are now closing to finalising a loan deal until the end of the season.
From the player's perspective, James is believed to be keen to join Marti Cifuentes's side and aid Leicester's bid to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.
Frankfurt submit bid for Newcastle striker
Elsewhere, Newcastle United forward William Osula could leave the club before the end of the summer transfer window.
There is plenty of focus on Alexander Isak on deadline day, with the Newcastle forward set to complete his desired move to Liverpool.
However, Isak could be followed out the door by another Newcastle striker before the market slams shut until the new year.
According to Sky Sports News, German side Eintracht Frankfurt have submitted a bid to sign Osula from Newcastle.
The report claims that the two clubs are discussing a £28.5m deal for a player who is under contract until the summer of 2029.
Aston Villa have also made an enquiry about the player's situation, but Frankfurt appear to be leading the race in the closing stages of the market.
