Wolverhampton Wanderers equalise in stoppage time to avoid defeat against Leeds United at Molineux this afternoon.

Wolverhampton Wanderers were pushed towards the drop zone by Leeds United this afternoon despite scoring a late equaliser.

Leeds had two new faces in their starting XI and both Stephen Warnock and Steve Morison were involved in a bright start for the visitors.

David Norris had the first meaningful strike of the match when his drive from distance was deflected over the crossbar.

Ross McCormack and Paul Green also saw efforts go wide in the early stages before Kevin Doyle was thwarted by Paddy Kenny for the home side.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake went close for the visitors just before the break after latching onto an incisive pass from Bakary Sako but the march remains deadlocked.

Wolves made a marked improvement after the break and went ahead when Lee Peltier turned a dangerous cross into his own net under pressure.

The lead lasted just a few minutes however, as Luke Varney latched onto a pass from McCormack before unleashing a curling strike into the far corner.

A topsy-turvy match nearly swung back towards the home side soon after when Green headed Christophe Berra's header off the line.

Leeds were handed a chance to take the lead 15 minutes from time when they were awarded a penalty after Sam Byram tangled with Sako.

McCormack made no mistake for his fourth goal in five games to leaves Wolves fans staring towards the relegation zone.

A desperate home side restored parity in stoppage time when Danny Batth met Jamie O'Hara's deep cross to beat Kenny from close range.
