McDermott pleased with Leeds start

Leeds United manager Brian McDermott has said that he is happy with his team's start to the Championship campaign following today's goalless draw with Leicester City.

The 52-year-old, who guided his team to victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on the opening day of the season, said that the King Power Stadium is never an easy place to go and believes that his side did well to get a point.

"They hit the post, but we started well and I thought we might have nicked a goal," McDermott told Sky Sports News. "They had the one chance against the post but other than that, they threw a lot of balls into the box and we dealt with it very well.

"We had a good chance through a Matt Smith header but there was not much in the game. We nullified each other and it was very tight.

"This is not an easy place to come and get a result from. Home or away, you try and win the game and it is what it is. We've got four points and it's nice to get off to a start."

The Whites welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Elland Road next Saturday.
