Leeds United are reportedly considering an attempt to appoint former Lille boss Marcelo Bielsa as a replacement for head coach Paul Heckingbottom.

Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly emerged as a potential replacement for Leeds United head coach Paul Heckingbottom.

In February, Leeds brought in Heckingbottom as a replacement for Thomas Christiansen but just 16 points were recorded from the club's closing 16 fixtures in the Championship this season.

That return has resulted in doubts over the future of the 40-year-old and according to ESPN, Leeds have already identified a new arrival in the dugout.

The report claims that former Lille boss Bielsa is under consideration and an approach for the 62-year-old could be made in the coming weeks.

Bielsa has been out of work since December, but the experienced Argentine can list his national side, Chile, Athletic Bilbao and Marseille among the teams that he has managed during a 28-year career.

Earlier this week, defender Pontus Jansson suggested that he wanted to see major changes at Elland Road.
