Pontus Jansson: 'I want to see changes at Leeds United'

Defender Pontus Jansson says that he wants to see changes made at Leeds United after a "really bad" season both on and off the pitch.

Defender Pontus Jansson has claimed that life at Leeds United became "incredibly messy" during the most recent campaign.

Leeds began brightly but a poor second half to the season led to the dismissal of Thomas Christiansen and the arrival of Paul Heckingbottom.

However, Jansson has suggested that he is disappointed with the current situation at Elland Road and has called for changes to be made ahead of next season.

In response to being quizzed on whether improvements need to be made, the 27-year-old told Expressen: "I hope so. As we have seen this year, things have to happen. It was really bad both on and off the pitch.

"Leeds wants to go up to the Premier League, that's how the club goes out and talks, and then there are changes. We came in the lower half of the second part of the season and it's not good at all.

"It's been a messy season. Changes in the team were stricter in the second half of the season with more training, which is not a problem for me, but it was incredibly messy and a big disappointment."

Jansson has four years remaining on his contract with the Yorkshire giants.
