Late Mark Reynolds goal gives Aberdeen win

Late Reynolds goal gives Aberdeen win

A late strike from Mark Reynolds was enough to give Aberdeen all three points in their Scottish Premiership game against Kilmarnock this afternoon.

The visitors had the better of the chances in the first half, as Ryan Jack struck the crossbar early on and Michael Hector had a header saved by Craig Samson just before half time.

Kris Boyd applied pressure for Kilmarnock, but never really troubled Jamie Langfield in the Aberdeen goal in the opening 45 minutes.

Samson had to be sharp at the start of the second half as Jack had another attempt shortly after the restart, before Peter Pawlett forced the keeper to parry his powerful strike away.

Both teams continued to create chances until Reynolds picked up the ball from Niall McGinn in the six-yard box and put the visitors in front with a low finish seven minutes from full time.

It was a tense finish for Aberdeen, though, as Nicky Lowrie was sent off for a late challenge on Jeroen Tesselaar in stoppage time.

However, Kilmarnock did not have enough time to convert their one-man advantage into a goal before the full-time whistle, giving the visitors the win.
