Mick McCarthy pleased with a point

Mick McCarthy says that Ipswich Town's match with Bolton Wanderers was "awful, dour and dire" but he is pleased to have taken a point.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy said that he was "delighted" to salvage a point from this afternoon's clash with Bolton Wanderers.

David McGoldrick struck six minutes after Medo Kamara's 65th-minute opener at the Reebok Stadium, but the 54-year-old branded the performance as the Tractor Boys' worst away from home this season

However, he was happy with how his players responded to going a goal down.

"I'm delighted with a point because that is probably our worst performance away from home this season," PA Sport quotes McCarthy as saying.

"The game was not particularly good. I described it as awful, dour and dire in different interviews and that's probably what it was, but coming back from 1-0 down and getting a point away from home is great and I'm delighted with that."

Ipswich are 13th in the Championship, with seven points each way separating them from the playoffs and the relegation zone.
