Player Ratings: Getafe 0-0 Barcelona

Barcelona missed the chance to close the gap on La Liga leaders Real Madrid after a 0-0 draw against Getafe on Saturday.

The Catalan outfit managed just two attempts on target during the contest, with a strong defensive performance helping Getafe claim a share of the spoils.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how each individual player performed during the Spanish affair.

GETAFE

Goal

Vicente Guaita: Made a stunning save to deny Messi in the first period and was also strong from high balls. An excellent display from the Spanish goalkeeper. (8/10)

Defence

Juan Valera: Was lucky not to concede a first-half penalty following a clear handball inside the box, but the defender recovered to produce a solid display. (6/10)

Naldo: Excellent performance at the heart of the Getafe defence. Kept Suarez and Messi in check for long spells of the contest. (7/10)

Emiliano Velazquez: On-loan Atletico Madrid centre-back further enhanced his growing reputation with a confident performance alongside Naldo in defence. (7/10)

Alexis: Given the task of marking Pedro and the Spaniard certainly got the better of the Barca attacker. Another that impressed for the capital outfit. (7/10)

Midfield

Pablo Sarabia: Had space to exploit in wide positions, but never really made his mark. Picked up a booking after 65 minutes for a poor challenge on Messi. (6/10)

Medhi Lacen: Was the player required to provide protection to his back four and Lacen certainly answered the call. Made a number of crucial interceptions. (7/10)

Angel Lafita: Had a golden chance in the first period, but saw his effort saved by Bravo. A lively and energetic performance from the Spanish attacker. (7/10)

Michel: A shade fortunate to escape a booking following a couple of untidy challenges, but the Spaniard was absolutely everywhere for his side. (7/10)

Karim Yoda: Made a bright start to proceedings, with his pace causing problems in the first period, but the Frenchman faded in the second 45 minutes. (6/10)

Attack

Sammir: Had pace and movement around him, but the striker really struggled to make his mark. Was replaced by Alvaro Vazquez just past the hour mark. (6/10)

Substitutes

Alvaro Vazquez: Had the ball in the back of the net late on, but the final whistle had already been blown. A really positive cameo from the substitute. (7/10)

Diego Castro: Might have been the hero late on after finding a pocket of space inside the Barca box, but the forward was crowded out at the vital moment. (6/10)

Pedro Leon: Was given the final 15 minutes and put in a number of dangerous set pieces. Will be pleased to have finally sorted out his registration problem. (6/10)

BARCELONA

Goal

Claudio Bravo: Was not called into action on too many occasions, but had a standout moment in the first period when he made a truly wonderful save to deny Lafita. (7/10)

Defence

Dani Alves: Did not look entirely fit and therefore left all sorts of space for Lafita to exploit. Departed with what looked like an injury in the final 10 minutes. (6/10)

Gerard Pique: Steady enough at the heart of the defence. Was forced to cover his full-backs on a few occasions and the Spaniard did a good job. (7/10)

Jeremy Mathieu: A no-frills performance from the Frenchman, who was not really tested for long spells. A little untidy in possession, especially in the first period. (6/10)

Jordi Alba: Got forward on plenty of occasions, but could not find a telling cross. Seems to be lacking a little bit of confidence at the moment. (6/10)

Midfield

Xavi: Had a couple of half-chances throughout the match, but could not find the back of the net. Was the one midfielder who looked like making something happen. (6/10)

Sergio Busquets: Kept things ticking over in the middle of the park, but never grabs the game by the scruff of the neck when Barca are struggling. Needed to do more. (6/10)

Ivan Rakitic: Recalled to the XI after sitting out the PSG match, but the Croatian did not really take his chance. Was hardly seen in the final third of the field. (5/10)

Attack

Pedro: Moved further forward due to the absence of Neymar, but did not take his chance. Had plenty of the ball in wide areas, but his final pass was disappointing. (5/10)

Luis Suarez: Looked his side's most dangerous player in the first period, but the striker faded in the second 45 minutes. Still working his way to full fitness. (6/10)

Lionel Messi: Brought a brilliant save from Guaita in the first period, before rattling the crossbar with a free kick in the second. Not the Argentine's day in front of goal. (6/10)

Substitutes

Andres Iniesta: Finally joined the action after 66 minutes, but the midfielder could not inspire his side. (6/10)

Munir El-Haddadi: Given the final 13 minutes, but the 19-year-old struggled to make his mark against a well-drilled Getafe back-line. (6/10)

Adriano: Slotted into right-back late on when Alves was forced off with an injury. (6/10)
