Bolton Wanderers leave it late to sink Fulham

Bolton Wanderers beat Fulham 3-1 thanks to goals from Eidur Gudjohnsen, Saidy Janko and Adam le Fondre.

Neil Lennon's Bolton Wanderers left it late to beat Fulham as goals from debutant Saidy Janko and Adam le Fondre inside the final 10 minutes gave them a 3-1 win at the Macron Stadium.

Eidur Gudjohnsen first went close for the hosts when he met Liam Feeney's cross, but the Icelandic striker's powerful shot was deflected behind.

Fulham barely threatened until Nikolay Bodurov's near-post header was spectacularly kept out by Bolton goalkeeper Andrew Lonergan.

From the resulting corner Fulham took the lead when the unmarked Shaun Hutchinson smashed the ball home from close range.

Lonergan then made a quick fire double save from Hugo Rodallega and Ross McCormack, and the home side were level on the stroke of half time when Gudjohnsen fired home Janko's cross from close range.

Janko cut inside and curled an effort narrowly wide of goal shortly after the restart, before David Wheater's header from a Barry Bannan corner was well held by Marcus Bettinelli.

It was then the turn of Le Fondre to squander a Bannan delivery as the on-loan Cardiff City striker saw his header from the Scottish midfielder's free kick deflected behind for a corner.

Janko's mazy run carried him all the way into the Fulham box, but the Bolton man was tackled just as he looked set to pull the trigger.

However, Janko got the goal his performance deserved when he collected Josh Vela's pass and sent a powerful effort into the bottom corner of Bettinelli's goal.

Le Fondre then wrapped up the win late on when he capitalised on a Bettinelli error to chip into an empty net from 30 yards.

The result lifts Bolton up to 13th, while Fulham fall to 18th place in the Championship table.
