Everton are reportedly interested in signing Southampton defender Cedric Soares before the end of January.

Everton have reportedly identified Southampton defender Cedric Soares as a potential January signing.

Soares has made 116 appearances in all competitions since arriving at St Mary's in 2015, but the right-back is currently not considered as first choice by new boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.

According to The Sun, that has resulted in Everton taking an interest in the Portugal international as Marco Silva looks to strengthen his squad.

The Toffees currently sit in 11th place in the Premier League table, with 31 goals being conceded in 21 matches during the opening five months of the season.

Any deal could potentially give Everton to send Jonjo Kenny out on loan in order to gain regular first-team football.
