Burnley manager Sean Dyche admits that he is 'flattered' by reports linking him to the Everton vacancy.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has admitted that he is 'flattered' by rumours that he could become the next Everton manager.

The 46-year-old was installed as one of the favourites for the position as soon as Ronald Koeman was sacked by the club on Monday afternoon.

Just two wins in nine Premier League games, which has put Everton third from bottom in the table, resulted in the Dutchman's axe.

Dyche has been in charge of Burnley since 2012 and in that time has guided the team to top-flight promotion twice, and has managed to keep the Clarets in the division since moving up in 2015-16.

When asked about the Everton speculation, the former Watford boss told the Daily Mail: "It's very flattering, I've been linked with other situations before. I just keep getting on with my job until things change. It's out of my hands, I'm just getting on with what I do."

Meanwhile, former Everton player Phil Neville has reportedly thrown his hat into the ring for the job.
