Roberto Martinez: 'Christian Benteke is Aston Villa's dangerman'

Roberto Martinez admits that Everton must stop Christian Benteke if they are to beat Aston Villa.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has highlighted striker Christian Benteke as Aston Villa's main threat for Saturday's clash between the two sides at Villa Park.

Martinez said that Villa will be a much tougher challenge with Benteke on the field and that his side would need to explicitly deal with the Belgian on the day.

"I think he has been an impressive signing," Sky Sports News quotes Martinez as saying. "Looking at his contribution last season it was more than significant in Villa's record in the league and you can see what he brings to the crowd and what he means to everyone at Villa.

"Clearly Villa with Benteke on the pitch is a bigger threat and we will have to be very wary of that."

Villa are 13th and Everton seventh in the Premier League table.
