Danny Welbeck included in provisional England squad

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck has been called up to England's provisional 30-man squad to face Holland on Wednesday.

Manager Fabio Capello will revise the number down to 23 before the midweek friendly.

The 20-year-old, who made his senior international debut against Ghana in March, was part of the squad who were knocked out at the group stage of this summer's Under-21 European Championships.

The upcoming friendly has been criticised by a number of Premier League managers due to it being scheduled three days before the start of the new season.
