England rise two places to fourth, despite having drawn their last two games and putting them ahead of Brazil, who are at six.
Spain drop from the top spot to second, while Germany stay put at three.
The latest rankings come ahead of next week's Euro 2012 qualifiers, which see England take on Bulgaria (51st) and Wales - currently 117th - face Montenegro (19th).
