Burrell to tempt Sterling for Jamaica

Jamaica president Horace Burrell is due to fly in to England to try to convince Raheem Sterling to shun England for the country of his birth.

The Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson has said that the Liverpool winger will be selected for the next international friendly against Sweden on November 14.

Burrell has admitted that he will try to persuade the 17-year-old to play for Theodore Whitmore's side.

"Based on the FIFA rules Raheem is still eligible for us. We think it is worthwhile to speak," said Burrell.

Sterling scored his first senior goal in the 1-0 win over Reading on October 20.
