Steven Gerrard insists that the current England squad have more "belief and confidence" than the players that travelled to the 2010 World Cup.

Steven Gerrard has insisted that the atmosphere inside the current England squad is better than 2010.

The Three Lions and manager Fabio Capello were widely criticised for their performances at the World Cup in South Africa, where they were knocked out in the second round by Germany.

However, Gerrard believes that under Roy Hodgson at Euro 2012, the players have a greater "belief and confidence".

"I think together as a team at times it feels like we are unbreakable," he told reporters. "There is a lot of belief and confidence in the dressing room. [It is] very different from South Africa."

Football Association chairman David Bernstein also praised Hodgson earlier today for improving the squad's spirit.
