Degerfors vs. Brommapojkarna - prediction, team news, lineups

Degerfors will be looking to move outside of the Allsvenskan relegation zone when they play host to Brommapojkarna on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the visitors, who currently occupy 10th place in the standings, will be keen to catapult themselves into the top half of the table with victory at Stora Valla.

Match preview

Having finished in 13th position during their first two seasons back in the Swedish top flight, it would have been pretty much accepted by everyone associated with Degerfors that survival would represent a successful campaign.

As it stands, they face a battle to achieve that target after only accumulating 14 points from their opening 17 matches, conceding 41 goals in the process.

Bruket, who have joint managers in Tobias Solberg and Andreas Holmberg, are currently on their worst run of the season, losing five of their last six games.

However, their solitary success during that period came against Saturday's opponents as recently as July 8, with Degerfors coming from behind to net twice in the final eight minutes to prevail by a 2-1 scoreline.

Since then, though, Degerfors have failed to score in defeats to Sirius and Norrkoping, with their 1-0 reverse in the latter of those games courtesy of a last-minute effort.

Meanwhile, Brommapojkarna will be delighted with their first campaign back in the Allsvenskan, sitting in 10th spot and eight points clear of the bottom three.

Up until recently, they were faring much better, but a four-match losing streak occurred between June 9 and July 15 to halt them in their tracks.

Nevertheless, Olof Mellberg's side posted a much-needed 1-0 success over Hammarby last time out, with Kevin Ackermann netting his first strike of the season.

Although a top-five finish is well within their grasp, Brommapojkarna need to be winning games such as this one to back up their excellent first half of the campaign.

Team News

Having pushed Norrkoping last time out, Solberg and Holmberg may opt to retain as many players from last weekend's starting lineup as possible.

Damjan Pavlovic could be considered for a recall having replaced Johan Martensson in the centre of midfield at half time.

Barring any fitness issues, Mellberg may be content to select the same Brommapojkarna XI that got the better of Hammarby.

That said, Marijan Cosic is in contention to return in the final third, with Carl Odefalk potentially dropping down to the substitutes' bench.

Degerfors possible starting lineup:

Rossbach; Bouzaiene, Granath, Bergqvist, Ohlsson, Gyau; Orqvist, Pavlovic, Gravius; Abdulla, Campos

Brommapojkarna possible starting lineup:

Hagg-Johansson; Calisir, Sogaard, Heggem; Jensen, Fritzson, Leach Holm, Ackermann; Petterson, Johansson, Cosic

We say: Degerfors 1-2 Brommapojkarna

Draws have been in short supply for both teams this season, and that leads us to back a winner. Given Degerfors' dismal record at the back, we can only predict an away win, albeit by a fine margin.
