Garvan: 'I should be fit for Tottenham opener'

Crystal Palace midfielder Owen Garvan is confident that he will be fit for his side's Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Republic of Ireland international suffered a knee injury in the Eagles' pre-season win over Dagenham and Redbridge last month.

The Daily Star quotes Garvan as saying: "I had some tendonitis on the knee, but I should be alright for the start of the season."

The 25-year-old made 32 appearances in all competitions for Ian Holloway's side last season.
