Report: Chelsea close in on Radamel Falcao

Chelsea believe that they are close to winning the race to sign Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao, according to a report.

Negotiations have been ongoing throughout the last few months between the striker's agent and the Spanish club to strike a move to the Premier League.

The Blues are now so confident of landing the signature of the 27-year-old that they have toned down their interest in fellow long-term target Edinson Cavani, according to the Daily Mail.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has given the go-ahead for the Blues to strike the deal worth £46m and £200,000-a-week wages to bring the Colombian to Stamford Bridge.
