Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho: 'We will have to grind out results'

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admits that his side will have to grind out results to get back to their best form following their poor start to the season.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is more concerned about picking up points rather than plaudits for his side's performances.

The Blues have had a torrid start to the season after losing four of their opening eight matches, but they showed signs of getting back on track with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.

Mourinho believes that his side will have to build a solid run of results before they can return to their fluent best in the final third.

The Portuguese told the club's official website: "In this moment it's difficult to be brilliant before we have points. What produces results is both quality, plus the other things.

"When you are not able to show your quality, you have always to be able to show the other things. In between quality in some moments and fantastic work by the team and the fantastic desire to win the game, the performance was solid, not brilliant.

"They wanted to win, they wanted to show that they wanted to win, they wanted to show they are together and ready to fight. I'm really happy because it was two long weeks after the last defeat."

Chelsea moved up to 11th place in the Premier League following their win over Villa.
