Jose Mourinho: 'Start reminds me of title-winning seasons'

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admits that he is reminded of title-winning campaigns when he thinks about the last time his team had such a good start to the season.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has said that his side's start to the season reminds him of previous successful campaigns in the Premier League and La Liga.

The Blues have enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign as they are unbeaten in 12 matches, dropping just four points in the process.

Mourinho has acknowledged that his side's start is similar to that of his title-winning seasons with the Blues in the 2005-6 season and Real Madrid in 2011-12.

"Maybe Madrid, when we got to 100 points in the league." Mourinho said when asked if his side had ever had such a good start to a campaign. "I don't remember but maybe that one.

"Maybe the second season at Chelsea when we won the title for the second time. I think we also had a very good start to that season."

Chelsea lead the Premier League by seven points ahead of second-placed Southampton.
