AS Monaco defender Ricardo Carvalho believes that if Jose Mourinho returns to Chelsea, the club will win the Premier League title again.

Former Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho is confident that Jose Mourinho will win the Premier League with the Blues next season if he is appointed as the club's new manager.

The Portuguese is widely reported to be the man to replace Rafael Benitez at Stamford Bridge for his second spell at the club following his decision to leave Real Madrid.

Carvalho told The Sun: "I am certain that Jose can bring the good times back for them. He did it when we first went there in 2004 and he will do it again in 2013.

"For the last two years Manchester United and City have been at the top of the league in England.

"But I'm sure Chelsea will improve when Jose goes back there. It's important for them to win the Premier League again and, with Jose in charge, they will do that."

Carvalho was part of the Chelsea team that won the Premier League title twice under Mourinho in 2005 and 2006.
