Chelsea interim boss Rafael Benitez believes that he made the right choice to join the club.

Chelsea interim boss Rafael Benitez believes that he made the "right decision" in joining the club and admits that he will be sad to leave at the end of the season.

Since joining the Blues in November 2012, Benitez has faced criticism from sections of supporters despite guiding the club to the semi-finals of the FA Cup and the Europa League.

He told the Daily Mail: "I was pretty sure it was the right decision. We had to come and show our level and be professionals.

"Always when you start something and you can see things are improving and going well, when you can see players getting better... when you have to go it is not easy [to leave].

"Always you will miss something if you have to go, because you are trying to improve players who are people. You talk with them and work with them every day. You will miss them."

Chelsea face off against Manchester City in their FA Cup semi-final clash later today.
