Saturday's Scottish Premiership predictions including Celtic vs. Hearts

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Scottish Premiership fixtures, including Celtic vs. Hearts.

Celtic vs. Hearts (Saturday, 12.00pm)

Celtic can secure the Scottish Premiership title this weekend with a win against Hearts at Celtic Park, which could potentially move the Hoops nine points clear of Rangers if their rivals lose on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Hearts' fate has already been sealed as they currently sit in third spot, 19 points behind Rangers but a healthy 17 points in front of fourth-placed Dundee United.

We say: Celtic 2-0 Hearts

After failing to score in their last match against Ross County, that could potentially be followed up by another match without scoring for Hearts, considering Celtic's strong record on home soil.

The Hoops will be driven to secure the Premiership title as soon as possible, and three points this weekend would all but do that for them no matter what the Rangers result will be, as their goal difference is significantly superior.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Hibernian vs. Aberdeen (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Both somewhat unexpectedly finding themselves in the relegation group of the Scottish Premiership table, Hibernian and Aberdeen will do battle at Easter Road on Saturday.

The hosts suffered a disappointing defeat to Livingston in the second game of the campaign's second phase last time out, while the visitors posted a victory to climb within two points of their eighth-placed opponents.

We say: Hibernian 1-1 Aberdeen

In a game between two sides who have vastly underperformed by their own standards this season, we cannot quite pick a winner at Easter Road.

Hibernian have a badly hit squad and come in on the back of a disappointing defeat, while Aberdeen only just saw off the league's basement side last time out, and we opt for a low-scoring draw in a cagey affair as a result.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Livingston vs. St Johnstone (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Livingston will aim to continue their perfect record in the second phase of the Scottish Premiership campaign on Saturday, when they host St Johnstone.

Back-to-back wins have seen the hosts establish themselves at the top of the relegation group in the Scottish Premiership table, while their visitors will be condemned to the bottom two if they fail to pick up three points or other results go against them.

We say: Livingston 1-0 St Johnstone

Livingston have been dominant in the relegation group thus far, and we do not see their form being derailed on home turf by a struggling St Johnstone side.

While Martindale's side may sometimes lack goals, particularly in the absence of Anderson, they still boast the quality to see off the visitors at the weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

St Mirren vs. Dundee (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Now sitting five points adrift at the foot of the Scottish Premiership table with three games to go, Dundee will look to keep their faint survival hopes alive on Saturday, when they travel to take on St Mirren.

A defeat last weekend saw the visitors remain five points off the relegation playoff place, while their hosts need just two points to confirm their survival, even if St Johnstone in the playoff place do not slip up.

We say: St Mirren 2-1 Dundee

It seems to be now or never for Dundee, who are fighting for their lives with just three games to go, but we anticipate them falling short on Saturday.

The Dee are without a league win since early February, while the hosts will be boosted by their victory last time out and will aim to confirm their automatic survival with a second straight three-point haul.

Data Analysis

Our analysis of all available data, including recent performances and player stats, suggests the most likely outcome of this match is a St Mirren win with a probability of 37.8%. A win for Dundee has a probability of 33.02% and a draw has a probability of 29.2%.

The most likely scoreline is St Mirren 1-1 Dundee with a probability of 13.39% and the second most likely scoreline is St Mirren 1-0 Dundee with a probability of 12.79%.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Ross County vs. Motherwell (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Ross County manager Malky Mackay reacts on March 19, 2022© Reuters

With the two sides now likely finding themselves in a battle for fifth spot in the Scottish Premiership table, Ross County and Motherwell will square off at Victoria Park on Saturday.

The two teams each snuck into the Championship group when the Scottish top flight split but are yet to pick up a win in two attempts in the second phase of the campaign.

We say: Ross County 2-1 Motherwell

Ross County should come in on a relative high following their solid display against Hearts, while Alexander's side will be hit by consecutive losses, and we see the Staggies triumphing with home advantage as a result.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.
