Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder reacts to the reports linking him with the Burnley job, making it clear he enjoys working at his current club.

Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder has hit out at speculation surrounding him taking the vacant job at Burnley.

The Premier League outfit fired Sean Dyche last week after nine-and-a-half years in charge, and there have been several names linked to potentially replacing him.

One of those is the Boro boss, who does have experience managing in the top flight from his time as Sheffield United manager, and he has refused to distance himself from the job.

"I am the manager of Middlesbrough. It is not right to ask anything like that. It is a disappointing defeat. I am manager of Middlesbrough, and no one knows what is around the corner for anything, do they," Wilder stated to the press.

"I do not think there is a way out of talking about it. I think it is really unfair on anyone. So I do not know what you want me to say. You are after me dropping my guard and saying something daft.

"I am Middlesbrough manager, I enjoy working at Middlesbrough. What do you want me to come out with, a boring: 'I am flattered by it blah blah'. We have not won the game today."

Wilder is not the only name that has been attached to the Turf Moor job, as Sam Allardyce and Wayne Rooney have also been rumoured as potential new managers.
