Hughton: 'Lack of goals a real problem'

Chris Hughton acknowledges that Brighton & Hove Albion must rectify their goalscoring issues when the transfer window opens for business next week.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has once again hinted that he is prepared to splash the cash next month to bring in a top-quality striker.

The Seagulls have found the net just 15 times all season on their return to the top flight and are without a goal on their travels in four matches.

Brighton, who went down 2-0 to Chelsea in the most recent of those away outings, have been linked with Celtic striker Moussa Dembele in recent weeks.

Hughton acknowledges that he must rectify the lack of goals in his side, with the transfer window now just a few days from opening.

Asked if a lack of goals has become an issue, he told reporters: "Yes it has. It's something we're working on. Trying to get those balances right - getting the right personnel in the team. All you can keep do is working on them."

Brighton last lost four successive away league games without scoring a single goal in October 2002.
