Brighton & Hove Albion 'want Tim Sherwood as new manager'

Brighton & Hove Albion reportedly set their sights on Tim Sherwood as their new manager.

Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly hoping to appoint former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood as their new head coach.

The Seagulls are keen to land the former Blackburn Rovers midfielder because of his track record for unearthing promising young players, according to The Mirror.

During his time as Spurs youth coach, Sherwood promoted Nabil Bentaleb and Harry Kane to the senior team.

"The development of young players is not just critical to our future, but to everything we do," said Brighton chief executive Paul Barber.

"It is very important the manager we bring in believes in the system, believes in the ability of young players and is brave enough to play them when the opportunity arrives.

"As well as having the knowledge and experience to blend those young players with some very experienced pros around."

Brighton parted company with manager Oscar Garcia earlier this week.
