Half-Time Report: Brighton & Hove Albion hold narrow lead over MK Dons

Goals from Solly March and Jamie Murphy edge Brighton & Hove Albion ahead at the break in their clash against MK Dons at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton & Hove Albion are holding a narrow 2-1 lead at the break in their Championship clash against MK Dons at the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls took the lead in the fifth minute as Lewis Dunk's header was blocked into the path of Solly March on the edge of the box, and the winger rifled an effort into the top corner, leaving David Martin with no chance.

March looked to double his side's advantage when he raided down the flank before cutting onto his left foot and striking towards goal, but his shot went over the bar.

Brighton continued to threaten as Jamie Murphy got the better of his man on the wing and sent his cross to the near post, but Tomer Hemed could only head wide of the target.

The home side doubled their lead as they worked the ball well in the final third before the ball came to Murphy, who slotted his effort past Martin.

The visitors hit back immediately through Nick Maynard as the forward carved out space for a strike inside the area, and his effort found the bottom corner.

Brighton came close to getting a third goal on the stroke of half time when March teed up Hemed, but the striker's effort clattered off the post and bounced clear.
