Mark Warburton hails Brentford professionalism

Mark Warburton hails Brentford for their professionalism after thumping Blackpool 4-0 in what he claims was a potential "banana-skin game".

Mark Warburton has hailed his Brentford troops for the way in which they negotiated a "banana-skin game" after thumping Blackpool 4-0 at Griffin Park on Tuesday.

Arsenal loanee Jon Toral grabbed a hat-trick as Warburton's side beat the bottom-of-the-table Tangerines, who had Charles Dunne sent off on 44 minutes with the score at 2-0.

Lee Clark's Blackpool had shown signs of slight improvement recently after drawing their last two, and the Bees boss is taking nothing away from his players.

"We were very wary of Blackpool before the game and said that this had the potential to be a banana-skin game," he told Sky Sports News.

"They have been getting results and posing a threat lately but we started quickly and maintained the tempo and that set the tone for the game."

Victory saw Brentford move one point adrift of the playoff places in the Championship.
