Eddie Howe: 'Bournemouth will not get carried away'

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe insists that the Championship leaders will remain grounded following their 6-1 hammering of Blackpool.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has insisted that his team will not get carried away by their 6-1 thrashing of Blackpool.

The Cherries opened up a one-point lead at the top of the Championship table on Saturday thanks to a comprehensive victory at Bloomfield Road.

Despite claiming that his side put in one of their best performances of the season against the Seasiders, Howe is confident that they will remain focused for the remainder of the campaign.

"We don't want to get too carried away with what we can achieve at the end of the season," he told BBC Sport. "We just keep ticking along for the minute.

"This is uncharted territory for us as a club. Let's just enjoy the moment and see where it can take us. We're delighted with where we are but there are big tests to come.

"The win was up there as our best performance. It's even more impressive when you consider the pitch. When we got here we were disappointed with the state of it and thought this was going to be a difficult afternoon."

Bournemouth return to action on Boxing Day when they host Fulham in the league.
