Bournemouth defender Steve Cook says that it is yet to 'sink in' that he and his teammates will go up against Real Madrid in an exhibition match on Sunday.

Bournemouth defender Steve Cook has admitted that the prospect of playing Real Madrid this Sunday has not "sunk in".

The recently-promoted Championship club will take on the Spanish giants at Goldsands Stadium in a one-off exhibition match as part of the club's pre-season schedule.

"It was strange, because at first we thought that it wasn't going to happen - it was just talk, but a few days later it actually materialised," Cook told Sports Mole.

"There was a bit of disbelief that we were playing Real Madrid, and it hasn't really sunk in properly yet. We'll see them walking through the doors and then maybe the nerves and the excitement will kick in."
