Benedikt Howedes: 'We don't fear Dortmund'

Benedikt Howedes says that Schalke 04 can beat Borussia Dortmund if they play to their potential.

Schalke 04 captain Benedikt Howedes has said that his teammates do not fear reigning champions Borussia Dortmund.

The two teams meet in the highly-anticipated Revierderby tomorrow, with both sides occupying spots in the top five of the Bundesliga.

Howedes believes that Die Knappen can win if they play to their full potential.

"We have respect, but no fear," said Howedes. "We can play with self-confidence. We are in a good league position and have played some good games.

"Our last home game (a 3-0 win over Wolfsburg) shows that we are on a par with Dortmund. If we play to our strengths, then we can get something out of it."

Dortmund have won the Bundesliga title in the previous two seasons.
