Blackpool want Burton Albion's Gary Rowett to replace Jose Riga?

Blackpool are reportedly considering an approach for Burton Albion boss Gary Rowett if they sack Jose Riga as manager.

Blackpool could reportedly try to poach Gary Rowett from Burton Albion if Jose Riga is sacked as manager.

Summer appointment Riga looks doomed after Blackpool's pointless start to the season and his recent time away from the club in mid-season, which angered chairman Karl Oyston.

Owen Coyle had been linked with the Tangerines post, but, according to The Sun, he has now pulled out of the running and Oyston will now turn to Rowett.

The 40-year-old has guided the Brewers into the playoffs in the last two seasons and his club currently sit top of the table six games into the new season.
