The visitors took the lead with just three minutes on the clock as Ebanks-Blake kept his composure to slot the ball past Matt Gilks.

The hosts were on the attack soon after though, and it was only the woodwork that kept out Tiago Gomes's instinctive strike.

Thomas Ince, who caused Wolves plenty of problems during the opening 45 minutes, should have done better late on in the first half, but his shot was saved with just goalkeeper Carl Ikeme to beat.

Blackpool started the second period strongly and they hit the post again just before the hour when Gomes's in-swinging corner struck the upright.

Despite the home side's dominance, Wolves doubled their advantage from the penalty spot on 72 minutes.

Bakary Sako had his shirt needlessly pulled by Chris Basham, which allowed Ebanks-Blake to fire in from 12 yards and seal the win.

Ebanks-Blake could have completed his hat-trick late on, but he somehow hit the ball over the crossbar having rounded Gilks.

Alex Baptiste headed in to cut the deficit with minutes remaining, but Blackpool were unable to find an equaliser.
