Lionel Messi to undergo tests on knee injury

Barcelona have revealed that Lionel Messi will undergo further tests following a knee injury.

The Argentine was stretchered off during the final stages of Wednesday's goalless draw with Benfica in the Champions League.

"Lionel Messi has a bruise on the outside of his left knee," Barca tweeted. "He'll undergo further tests to determine the exact extent of the injury."

Messi is currently one goal behind Gerd Muller's record of 85 for club and country in a calendar year.
