Barcelona's Lionel Messi has been stretchered off during Wednesday's goalless draw with Benfica in the Champions League.

The Argentine, who started the match at the Camp Nou on the bench, looked to have injured his knee following a shot against the Portuguese side in the final 10 minutes.

The 25-year-old was then given medical treatment before being taken from the field.

Initial reports from Catalunya Radio have suggested that the injury is not serious.
