Arsenal are believed to be edging closer to snatching Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff.
The former AC Milan playmaker was speculated to be making a switch to the Emirates in the summer following the departure of Gunners captain Ces Fabregas to Barcelona and Samir Nasri to Premier League rivals Manchester City.
Reports in France have claimed that Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has been in London discussing a potential January move for Gourcuff, according to talkSPORT.
It is understood that the Ligue 1 side are trying to clinch the signature of Dijon midfielder Benjamin Corgnet as a replacement for the 25-year-old.
