Arsene Wenger explains Danny Welbeck inclusion

Danny Welbeck is "suited to the kind of game" Arsenal will be looking to play at Tottenham Hotspur, according to manager Arsene Wenger.

Arsene Wenger believes that Danny Welbeck is "suited to the kind of game" that he is hoping his Arsenal side will play during this afternoon's North London derby away at Tottenham Hotspur.

It had been suggested that Theo Walcott would be preferred in the starting lineup to Welbeck, who has been sidelined since late December with a thigh injury.

However, having seen Welbeck prove his fitness in training over recent days, Wenger has plumped for the summer signing from Manchester United.

"Welbeck is suited to the kind of game we want to play today. Theo is getting sharper so it was a difficult choice," he told BT Sport.

Welbeck has scored 12 goals during his 29 outings in all competitions this season.
