Alexis Sanchez ruled out of North London derby

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is ruled out of Saturday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur after failing to recover from a hamstring strain.

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out of Saturday's North London derby with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Chilean international, who has netted 18 times for the Gunners this season, had been expected to return after sitting out last week's 5-0 victory over Aston Villa with a hamstring strain.

However, manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that while Sanchez has taken part in light training, he won't be ready to take his place in the squad for the game at White Hart Lane.

Wenger added that the former Barcelona attacker has a chance of featuring against Leicester City on Tuesday night.
