Arsene Wenger hails Reading's effort in FA Cup semi-final

Arsene Wenger describes their FA Cup semi-final win over Reading as a "very difficult game".

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has congratulated Reading on their performance in this evening's FA Cup semi-final.

The Gunners eventually prevailed 2-1 thanks to two goals from Alexis Sanchez, but Reading took them to extra time after a Garath McCleary strike.

Wenger told BBC Sport: "It was a very difficult game against a well-organised, physical and resilient Reading team. They defended very well.

"After half time we didn't have the same intensity in the first half. We started to suffer and paid for it. Reading were ready to die on the pitch to get to the final and we have to congratulate them on their effort today."

Arsenal will play either Liverpool or Aston Villa in the final on May 30.
