Sports Mole previews Wednesday's Women's Champions League clash between Arsenal Women and Juventus Women, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Arsenal Women will look to maintain top spot in their Women's Champions League group when they play host to Juventus Women on Wednesday.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in Turin two weeks ago, leaving Juventus two points adrift of the Gunners in second place.

Arsenal are currently well-placed ahead of matchday four after picking up seven points from their three group games.

They began the group stage with a statement 5-1 win over the defending European champions Lyon, before they cruised to a 3-1 home victory over Zurich.

Although they were unable to claim all three points in Turin, Vivianne Miedema cancelled out Lineth Beerensteyn's opener to ensure that the Gunners remain unbeaten in the Champions League this season.

Miedema found the net once again on Saturday as Arsenal ended a run of three home games without a clean sheet to claim a narrow 1-0 victory over Everton.

After winning four of their last five home matches in all competitions, Jonas Eidevall's side will look to move one step closer to the knockout stages with a win over Juventus.

Meanwhile, Juventus will be in a confident mood after recording a precious victory over Inter in the Derby d'Italia on Saturday.

Barbara Bonansea and Arianna Caruso both found the net in the space of two minutes to guide Juventus to a 2-0 away victory.

Although they are unbeaten in four league games, the reigning Serie A champions are still six points adrift of current leaders Roma.

While Juventus have their work cut out to retain their Serie A crown, they will look to claim a third consecutive away victory in all competitions when Joe Montemurro takes his team to the Emirates Stadium to face his former side.

After beginning the Champions League group stage with a win over Zurich, the Italian giants have played out 1-1 draws against Lyon and Arsenal, but if they can claim all three points on Wednesday, they will leapfrog the Gunners and move to the top of the group.

Team News

Leah Williamson in action for Arsenal on September 24, 2022© Reuters

Arsenal will be unable to call upon the services of Kim Little and Beth Mead due to injuries, although Leah Williamson and Rafaelle returned to the squad against Everton following a spell on the sidelines.

Rafaelle is expected to be on the bench after being an unused substitute, but Williamson featured for over 20 minutes in the second half, and she could be brought into the starting lineup against Juventus.

Miedema could continue to operate from midfield rather than the frontline, and she will be looking to score in a third consecutive game for Arsenal.

As for the visitors, Montemurro may be tempted to select the same starting lineup for the third match in a row.

After keeping a clean sheet against Inter, goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin will be hoping for another strong display from a defence that will feature Cecilia Salvai and Martina Rosucci as the two centre-backs.

Cristiana Girelli will look to score her first goal of the 2022-23 Champions League group stage when she leads the line on Wednesday.

Arsenal Women possible starting lineup:
Zinsberger; Wienroither, Wubben-Moy, Williamson, Catley; Maanum, Walti, Miedema; Foord, McCabe, Blackstenius

Juventus Women possible starting lineup:
Peyraud-Magnin; Lenzini, Salvai, Rosucci, Boattin; Junge Pedersen, Grosso; Bonansea, Caruso, Beerensteyn; Girelli

We say: Arsenal Women 2-1 Juventus Women

The reverse fixture ended in a draw, and we think that Arsenal will make full use of home advantage to claim a narrow victory on Wednesday.
