Great Britain thrashed by Romania in water polo opener

Great Britain were soundly beaten by Romania in their opening match of the men's water polo tournament.

Romania made their superior experience count to record a resounding 13-4 victory in the Group B match.

Two goals from Rob Parker and strikes by Craig Figes and Jack Waller were not enough to prevent a disappointing defeat for Team GB.

Goalkeeper Ed Scott was kept extremely busy and could not stop a glut of goals from a strong Romanian side who will hope to progress to the knockout stages.

Team GB next face Serbia on Tuesday.
