Wycombe Wanderers wait on Joel Grant

Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth is hopeful of keeping Joel Grant at the club this summer.

Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth has revealed that he is hopeful of keeping Joel Grant at the club this summer.

The forward, who joined the outfit on a free transfer in 2011, has been strongly linked with a move to Ipswich Town in recent weeks.

"Joel was one of the top performers last year and it would be crazy if I didn't try to keep him," he told the Bucks Free Press.

"To compete with Ipswich is momentous. It's fantastic for Joel to be linked with a great, historic club like Ipswich.

"Whatever Joel decides, I know he can be a great player for Gareth Ainsworth, but equally I would be a very proud man if he goes on to play at a higher level. Either way there's no decision yet from Joel."

The 25-year-old has scored 14 league goals in 68 games.
