Wolverhampton Wanderers sign Conor Coady from Huddersfield Town

Conor Coady swaps Huddersfield Town for Wolverhampton Wanderers after the two Championship clubs agreed a "seven-figure fee".

Former Liverpool midfielder Conor Coady has signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers from fellow Championship outfit Huddersfield Town.

The 22-year-old has agreed a three-year contract, which has a further year's option for Wolves, after the two clubs negotiated a "seven-figure fee".

"We're sad to see Conor leave, but this transfer represents outstanding value for Huddersfield Town and we believe it is the right move for the club on balance," Huddersfield boss Chris Powell told the Terriers' website.

"Conor also expressed his desire to pursue this opportunity, but we made it clear that the club would only sell him if the terms were right for Huddersfield Town; there was no cheap deal to be had."

Coady said he "couldn't turn down" the chance to move to Molineux.

"It's a huge, huge club and one that I really couldn't turn down," he told Wolves' website.

"Last year was huge for me. Huddersfield was a fantastic club for me to be at and I'm really grateful for what they gave me."

Coady leaves Huddersfield after scoring three goals in 48 appearances in his one season with the Terriers.
