Wolverhampton Wanderers deny accepting bid for Steven Fletcher

Wolves deny accepting Fletcher bid

Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey has denied rumours that the club have accepted a £12m offer for Sunderland target Steven Fletcher.

Rumours in the press have suggested that Fletcher is about to join Sunderland for the sum, but Moxey has strongly denied the claims and continues to state that the player is going nowhere.

"Rumours that we have accepted a bid from Sunderland are incorrect," Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey told the Wolverhampton Express & Star.

"They want the player, but we haven't accepted anything."

Fletcher has scored 22 league goals since signing for Wolves in 2012.
