Wolves close to signing Ezri Konsa?

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly made an approach to sign Brentford defender Ezri Konsa.

Despite a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League during the most recent campaign, Nuno Espirito Santo is yet to add any fresh faces to his closely-knit squad at Molineux.

However, according to The Times, Wolves are attempting to get a deal over the line for Konsa, who has just represented England Under-21s at the European Championships.

The report suggests that the two clubs have been negotiating the potential transfer of the centre-back, with Wolves said to be prepared to meet Brentford's £12m asking price.

The 21-year-old - a £2.5m signing from Charlton Athletic last summer - made a total of 42 starts in the Championship this season.

Wolves are allegedly prioritising a new defender who can compete with Ryan Bennett on the right-hand side of the backline.
