Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that they have signed Hellas Verona defender Jackson Tchatchoua for a reported €12.5m (£10.8m).
On Saturday evening, Wolves commenced the new Premier League campaign with a humbling 4-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City.
Prior to that defeat at Molineux, Vitor Pereira had already expressed his expectation of at least three new players arriving at the club before the end of the summer transfer window.
A right wing-back would inevitably be acquired to replace Nelson Semedo, Wolves having already been denied in chases for Marc Pubill and Juanlu Sanchez.
However, it was widely reported that a deal for Tchatchoua was close to completion late last week and the West Midlands outfit have now confirmed that the Cameroon international has penned a five-year contract, with the option of an extra 12 months.

Wolves sign Serie A's fastest player
In formally announcing the transfer, Wolves describe the 23-year-old as someone who was 'recognised as the fastest player in Serie A last season' at a speed of 36.3 km/h.
Speaking to the club's official website, Tchatchoua said: "I feel good. I feel happy to be here and I’m excited. I spoke a little bit with the coach, but I’ll speak more.
The Premier League is one of my dreams and it's one step that I want to do in my life, and also the history of the club, the stadium, the fans, this convinced me."
On his time in Italy, he added: "I learned a lot on the defensive phase, the tactics, I have learned a lot about them. In Italy you have a lot of big teams, a lot of big matches, and I think in England it’s the same. We have lot of good teams there.
“In Italy, you have a lot of exertions, because every match is difficult. I think it’s a good step before the Premier League, being focused on this.”
Identical numbers
Since the start of 2021-22, Tchatchoua has spent time with Charleroi in Belgium and Hellas Verona in Italy.
During both stints, he contributed two goals and five assists from his 64 appearances in all competitions.
Tchatchoua is also viewed as the first-choice right-back for Cameroon, making 10 appearances since making his debut in June 2024.
He is expected to challenge Ki-Jana Hoever for a starting spot at right wing-back, with Pedro Lima now expected to go out on loan.
